Psychological First Aid
At Unity Care solutions we have always strived to look after our staff. However, in early 2020 with the Covid19 pandemic it became evident that we all needed a more structured approach to our staffs’ wellbeing. With this in mind. all our office support staff trained in Public Health England’s ’Psychological First Aid’ training in early summer of 2020. This gave us the confidence to be able to talk to our staff and signpost them if they were struggling with mental health.
UCS Wellness program
We wanted to build on what we learnt in the Psychological First Aid Training so we developed our own internal “Wellness program” to make staff feel valued by offering support at work, and to offer opportunities to talk and give assistance via signposting. Our aim is to enhance and build on the relationships we already have with our staff and to be able to identify any concerns early on that might affect the wellbeing of our staff, either work related or on a personal level. This was launched in our new Wellbeing Newsletter in October 2020.
To celebrate World Mental Health Day on 10 October 2020 we launched our first Wellbeing newsletter for our staff.
